I love the sentiment "Oh, Happy Day!" - it reminds me that there is something to celebrate in every. single. day.

I tried to keep the design of my card light and fun to 

echo that joyous feeling.

Hi There!  It's Carolyn with a fun and EASY treat holder to share.  I found this paper machie cupcake at my local craft store.  From there, I painted the top of the cupcake with some white acrylic paint and the bottom with a brown.

I covered the top of the cupcake with Helmar 450 Quick Dry glue.  Starting with the bottom rim...I worked a few rows at a time with the glue so it wouldn't dry up.  Then I wound the twine around the lid.  Here are the colors I used in order of Twin-ification!  (Twin-ification = the act of embellishing an item with twine.):

Pink Sorbet

Lilac

Caribbean

Marigold

Blossom

And after adding the twine, I glued some buttons on top....

and finished it with a Maraschino bow on the little flag 

(made from a sticker and a toothpick)!

  

And here is the cupcake filled with treats:

There you go! Everything looks better covered in twine:)

Winter Fun!

Hi!  It's Lauren from Lauren's Creative and I have a fun and simple way to add a little sparkle to your projects using the brand new Platinum Shimmer Baker's Twine from The Twinery.  The classic Maraschino twine looks was amped up a bit with the addition of the Platinum Shimmer.  The little silver thread perfectly plays off of the glitter I added to the image.

I used my Silhouette Design Software to add the little holes, so I could thread the baker's twine around the card's edge.  The Silhouette's software has a "rhinestone" function that was originally meant to create stencils to apply rhinestones, BUT it also provides an easy way to add baker's twine in a little bit different way.  I used 10ss size because I wanted to use two colors of baker's twine.  If you just want to use one color, just bump the size down to 6ss and you should be good to go!  The little touch of twine adds so much to an otherwise simple card.

Colorful Greetings that Shimmer

Hi there!

Jessica here, popping in a couple cards I made recently with our new gold shimmer twine... so lovely!  I embellished my card quickly by wrapping the shimmer twine around the card front three times and taping it in the back.  Then, I added a textured button that I embellished with a little shimmer bow.  Rather than trying to thread the eyelet holes on the button, I just tied the bow and added it to the button center with a glue dot... 

much easier that way!

The stamp set I used is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Poppies and Greetings.  I stamped the image in Memento black ink and colored with Copics.  Then, I used a PaperTrey Ink impression plate to emboss the paper, ripping and distressing around the entire image for interest.  To finish it off, I used Colorbox chalk ink around the edges.

For this card,  I choose to use the gold shimmer twine since my rose and paper were warm and golden in tones.  I wrapped the twine around my card base three times and then tied a quick bow.  I didn't add an embellishment to the center of the bow like I usually do because I think our shimmer twine already embellished!

a bit more information on the card .... The rose stamp image is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Rose Blossom (which is colored with Copics) and the birthday sentiment is from PaperTrey Ink's Little Labels.  The patterned papers are from October Afternoon's Good Cheer paper pack.
