First up....Kathy Skou
I
LOVE adding depth and dimension to my projects. There are no flat
layouts in my books! I wanted to show you a quick and easy way to do
that with your projects...take a peek:
(Yes,
this is an extremely silly picture of my daughter and me... but I've
found that she will let me take cell phone pictures with her in them,
when she won't let me take regular pictures.
I take what I can get...)
I
first cut some shamrocks from my background paper and backed up the
empty space with some coordinating paper. To make the shamrocks
pop more, I outlined the cut-outs with some Honeydew Twine using a little liquid adhesive.
To
add more dimension, I cut additional shamrocks from a coordinating
paper, folded them to make them pop up, and attached them to my layout
using a glue dot.
A little paint on the background paper makes the photo stand out a bit more, and I finished it all off with some Honeydew Twine tied around my photo. I LOVE the monochromatic look...I think it really makes the photo stand out!
That's it for today, I hope that you're inspired to play along with us for this challenge. I can't wait to see what you create!
Here's what Kellie Winnell has for us today...
Kellie here with you to share a card I made for the current challenge we are having.
It has been amazing to hop around to all that have taken part, so many amazing talented people in this crafting community.
I'm
going to be the first one to put my hand up and say, I know chevron is
everywhere and frankly I still want to see more, I love it! However I
love green, green car, green handbag, painting my kitchen green. But to
craft with green, hmmmm not as easy. Mainly because I associate green,
as in green, green with boys and I only have hubby as a fella in my
life as we have 3 daughters, so pinks, pink and OH what do you know
pink.
I
did however have to make a birthday card for my dad, and so I got out
some of out house paint, YUP house paint. Don't think you have to use
art and crafts paint, I have always used this shade wall paint, it's my
favourite haha. Here is the end result....
Can
I point out right away that I used the new twine Neutral and I love it,
love it oh boy do I love it! Don't you? I know you do. And you can
always change the colour to suit you! While this card might look a
little busy it's actually very quick and easy. The paint and splatters
give an effect of more than what there really is. Along with using
stamps. The stamps are all from the same set and designed by me. And
the cardboard was from a box I was about to throw out!
So
don't be afraid to jump out of your box every now and then, have a look
around your house for something you might very well be able to use!
Now go play with your Twine!
