Winter Banner

Hi everyone!! This is Jen from Jen's Ink Spot here to share a project using a new product that I adore!

So...have you seen the beautiful new twine that The Twinery has released recently?  SHIMMER twine!?  Swoon!! It is gorgeous!  It is fabulous!  It is so pretty & so sparkly! I love it!

I put together a winter themed project for one of the shelves in my dining room.  It needed a little sprucing up!

I used my twine to make a banner of sparkling snowflakes!  I LOVE how the shimmer in the twine works so well with the shimmer in the glitter paper that the snowflakes are cut from!  It adds just the right touch to my family themed shelf!

Here are a few closeups of the snowflake twine banner:

It was so easy to create this!  I just die cut several snowflakes with Lil' Inker Designs Snowflake Dies and then used glue dots to attach them to the Platinum Silver Shimmer Twine.

Have you taken a look at this twine?  It is so much fun to use and adds such an quick & easy pop to craft projects!  There are two new colors available:

Be sure to grab yours today in the Twinery Store!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Shimmer Your December Daily

Are you documenting your story this December? If you're a scrapbooker, you probably know about the December Daily project community inspired by Ali Edwards. Hi, I'm Monika and I'm a scrapbooker...mini albums are my most favorite way to capture our family's stories.

I couldn't wait to get started, and was so excited about the new Shimmer baker's twine from The Twinery, that I used the Gold shimmer to embellish my first page!

And here's what you've been waiting for...the details shots showing just how spectacular and fantastic the shimmer is in this baker's twine. Just bright enough to catch your eye, but not too loud that it overshadows your project. Like I said, perfection!

Find the Gold Shimmer, like I used on my project, and the Platinum Shimmer in the shop!

Be back soon with more projects for you to do with your kidlets while they're on holiday break.

Gift Tag & Ornament All in One!

Hi everyone- it's Sarah here today with a quick and easy Christmas project. I was so excited to get the Gold Shimmer twine in the mail! Gold seems to be my go-to color when creating this Christmas, so I knew I would be putting it to good use.
My mom loves to sew and I had been planning on doing something for her using an empty wooden spool.  I first decided to make it be a gift tag, but then decided it could double as an ornament, too.

I wrapped the spool in Gold Shimmer and secured the ends with glue.  I ran a piece of twine through the center hole, then threaded on 3 glittery buttons- 2 smaller ones  on the bottom and a larger one next to the spool. At the top of the spool, I again added a large button next to the spool and sandwiched a little tag between that and another small button. I tied a few knots, then added the long ends in with a strand of twine I wrapped around the gift.  When the gift is unwrapped, the spool can be hung as an ornament.

Thanks for stopping by The Twinery today and seeing what you can do with your Shimmer twine! We'd love to see how you use it- show us on flickr or facebook!

Frosty the Snowman!

Hi guys!  Jamie with you today to share a fun and quick tutorial using the new Gold Shimmer twine!  I am absolutely in love with the new metallic baker twines, they have so much shimmer!

I am going to walk you though creating this fabulous
little scarf that I created for my snowman!

Supplies:
Cardstock: White (Recollections)
Patterned Paper: Fact 6x6 (Basic Grey)
Stickers: We've Got Your Sticker Plus #54006, Christmas Tree (SRM)
Punch: Border (EK Success)

Tutorial:

1.  Assemble your snowman and gather the scarf pieces.
2.  Use an adhesive runner to cover the scarf pieces.  I like to use a dry adhesive to avoid the mess :)
3.  Leaving a tail, begin wrapping your piece.  Keep the pieces tightly together.
4.  Continue wrapping until you cover the entire area.  Leave a tail piece at the end.
5.  Pull both tail pieces to the back of the item then use tape to secure.
6.  Continue wrapping all the pieces for the areas that need to be covered.
7.  Adhere the pieces together then apply to your snowman

The wrapping goes really quickly and this is something that can be used on most any die cut!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Christmas in Blue

Jessica, popping in to share a rather 'blue' Christmas card with you today! lol!  I used The Craft's Meow fun new Christmas Cheer stamp set - the snowflakes, sentiment, and frame are all from this holiday set.  To off set all the shades of blue a bit, I tied a double knotted bow using The Twinery's Stone twine.  I stamped the frame in grey ink, so I wanted the twine to be a bit softer than black would be.

I like to embellish my tags with a double knotted twine bow often and usually like to put a mini rose, button, or a pearl like I did on this card for a quick embellishment.

Hope you are surviving the holiday rush upon us and will be able to take some time out to relax and enjoy your loved ones during the crunch time!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Jessica

Holiday Mini-Album

Hi there...Tifany here with you today!
Around our house we've been getting into the holiday spirit...and while I can't deny that the new shimmer twines from The Twinery just beg to be used on your winter projects - I wanted to show that they are not just for the holidays.

I've used The Twinery's new Platinum Shimmer twine to add a bit of sparkle to a Halloween mini album I created.

I started by using the twine wrapped around the cover and then wrapped the twine in various ways around each page of the album.

I am relatively new to making mini albums and for now my secret weapon for easy albums is consistency. I will choose a few elements to use on each page (in a different arrangement) and it then all comes together very quickly.
(Tip: When wrapping twine around the edges of a mini album make a small notch where you want to place your twine with your scissors so it will be easier to keep in place.)

Thanks for stopping by - and I hope your holidays (and beyond) are filled with shimmer!
