If you are not familiar with Epiphany Crafts,
here is a little about their company...

Epiphany Crafts was begun when a smart gal by the name of Tricia Barrett wanted to develop products that were easy to use, a good value and something you could reuse over and over again. One day when she was throwing together a few layout, she needed a blue button and despite her huge stash of products, she just could not find one that matched.
Tricia told her husband Brian, who is the “art guy” behind Epiphany Crafts…”would it be cool if there was something that let you make your own buttons?” Brian looked at Tricia and very seriously said…”I can do that!” and from that simple idea Epiphany Crafts was born!
Epiphany Crafts now has 14 Shape and Button Tools as well as matching Bubble Caps, Metal Charms, Jewelry & Brad Settings and much more! Be sure to visit our website to learn more about Epiphany Crafts. www.epiphanycrafts.com

There is an amazing prize package for a lucky winner

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi Everyone, it's Kathy back with another twine-y project! They say April showers bring May flowers, so here are my May flowers!

I created this for my mom as her Mother's Day present,  (there's a little surprise, you'll see!) but you could make it for a teacher's gift, something nice for a friend, just about anything!  I started by creating a holder for my flowers.  This cute little watering can was created using a cutting file and some fun springy papers.  I added some coordinating twine in Lilac, Cantaloupe and Honeydew to the handle.

Next, I created my flowers using my flower looms and some Honeydew, Blossom, Cantaloupe, Buttercream and Lilac Twine.

Now, here's the surprise.  My mom is a painter, and I bought her a bunch of new paint brushes as her present.  I used them as the stems of my flowers.  I wrapped the handles of the brushes in Honeydew twine using a couple of glue dots so that it could be removed easily, and attached the blooms to the top to cover the bristles.

And voila, I had flowers. This could be done using pencils, candy sticks, etc.  It's a fun and pretty way to package a little something!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Products used:  Paper and Stickers:  Echo Park Hello Spring Mini Collection; SVG Cuts Mother's Garden small watering can container; Baker's twine in Cantaloupe, Buttercream, Honeydew, Blossom, Lilac from The Twinery;  Flower Loom Hanna Ami.

Book Binding with Baker's Twine

Hi everyone! It's Sarah here today with a handmade book bound with twine from The Twinery! I used the beautiful Blossom, Caribbean and Lilac twine for this girly book.

Here is your supply list:

The first step is to trim your copy paper sheets to 8.5x10. Fold them all in half with nice, sharp creases. Then you will make 2 sets of 6 sheets put inside of each other. If you want a bigger book, by all means add more sets of paper! Next, take your cover paper and put the papers inside to see where you want to fold the cover over.
You will leave a longer edge on the right for a flap.

Next, measure and poke holes one and two inches from each side right on the crease. You will do this on both sets of paper. Since the cover is a bit larger than the pages, you will now line your paper up inside your cover and then poke through the holes in the paper
to make the holes in the cover.

Next, put your first set of papers in the cover and start stitching it in by starting going down through the bottom hole and then up the next, etc., leaving a tail at the bottom hole.
You will stitch back down and should end up with this:

Tie a regular ol' tight double knot at the bottom like below,
then sew in your second set of papers.

Here comes the fun part- decorating the cover! I made this one for my daughter for a long car ride to a wedding we have coming up. I also added a glassine envelope inside the back cover for her to add anything she collects along the way.
I used a border punch to make the flap have a scalloped edge. I sewed a cute button on where I wanted the closure to be,
then I used a sticky-backed velcro circle to hold it together.

I made a twine tassel and added a few pretty buttons
to it to hang off the twine used for the binding on the edge.

I cut a cute dress and dressed up a little,
then added my daughter's name on top.

These books are pretty quick to make for gifts, or just for yourself. I think they'd make great summer journals for your kids when school ends in the next few weeks. Play around with them by making different sizes, too. The sky's the limit on these fun little books!

I'd love to have you come visit my blog
Have a great week everyone!
