Keep Calm & 'Sew' On!

Happy Wednesday to one and all!
Julie Ranae with you today sharing
a fun project that I am sharing today, as it
brought some very
happy memories along the creative way.

We all know how trendy the 'Keep Calm' sentiment has been.
It's become pretty popular for home decor, paper crafts
& just a good reminder how to think.
I loved this vinyl sticker with the added sentiment for
sewing enthusiasts everywhere!

To quote my husband, there is "a lot going on with this card!"

From left to right....

I laid what I call the 'wallpaper' base and then went to work.

I cut the fun banners and hung them from one of
The Twinery's newest baker's twine colors, Flax.
From there, I die cut the flowers and centered them
with bright brads.
I placed the sentiment on a journal card and continued
the banner on the right.

I bought these fab decorative floss bobbins to use on projects
{not for floss, of course}
and wrapped this one with our Blossom baker's twine.
The stick pins finish it off.

As I created this card, I began thinking of my grandma.
She taught herself to sew when she was determined
to make Barbie Doll clothes for me as a child.
I know that as she continued on making school clothes for me
and eventually Cabbage Patch and
American Girl Doll clothes, she had a
'VERY HAPPY LIFE' because she enjoyed it 'sew' much.

I hope you enjoyed this colorful project.

Make sure you plan to stop by Thursday & Friday
because the designers
of The Twinery will be joining with the designers of...

Be Cool!

Hi everyone!
It´s Katarina here, sharing my absolutely first post here at the Twinery blog.
I´m so thrilled and honoured to be a part of this
amazing team ooozing with talent.

I'm a scrapbooker, and today I'm going to share with you a LO I did last weekend, using the wonderful twine from The Twinery.
This page is about my sweet darling daughter, the pic is taken in August about 2 years ago when she first discovered the "Rock Theme" look. When she started to wear my sunglasses, wanted bright coloured nail polish and cool bracelets and fake tattoos. And I just love this photo of her.

Ive actually used my absolute favourites from the Twine family on this page... Stone and Cantaloupe. Love how well they work with all those summer fresh pages feat. colours like yellow, lilac, greens and white.

Materials used on this page:
Twine, Stone and Cantaloupe- The Twinery
Basic Grey-Plumeria
Shimmerz- Mandarin Mai Tai
Stickers- October Afternoon
Thickers- American Crafts
Tag
Envelope
Cheese Cloth
Black pen-Memento
See you soon!

Be Happy!

Hello everyone, Karola here with my very first post on The Twinery blog! Can I say that I am totally thrilled for being among such talented team and working with the best twine in the world?
I had so much fun when I created 2 cards which I would share with you today. The first card is in a flower shape - I love making cards in a unusual shapes, but this one is full of The Twinery twine. I used Honeydew to decorate the "petals" of my flower and the same twine color I used to make a grid on plaid paper as a background.

It's very easy and I love the effect! I also used another color of our amazing twine - Carribean (my favorite!) to tie it on the top of my card and... you can see also a small crochet flower! I must admit that it's my very first crochet flower and of course this one is made with Carribean twine!

The second card is more bright than the first, I used here two colors of twine: Carribean and Pink Sorbet to make a decorative circles inside my cut-outs and to "hanging" my scalloped banner on the top of the card. Simple techniques, but what an effect!

Happy and creative weekend for everyone!

Just take a peek at this...

Twine Covered Lamp created by Patti West

That's right...it's a TWINE COVERED LAMP!!!

Patti West created this beauty using a $5.00 lamp she found at Wal-Mart, some craft paint and our Cappuccino twine!!

Can you even believe it?

Amazing.

You can learn how to create one too over on Patti's blog, It's All Good.
She has a lovely (and super easy) tutorial and more photos on her blog!

We were absolutely floored when we saw this project by Patti while browsing through our Flickr Group photos!

Have you created something with our twine too?
Upload your photos to our Flickr Group...we'd love to see them!

You've Got Mail!

Happy Wednesday, y'all! It's Shannan here, and I'm so excited to be posting for the first time on The Twinery Blog! I have a fun project that I've been waiting to share with you. A sweet little girl in my family had a birthday recently, and she loves mermaids and the color of the sea. So of course, I chose some Caribbean twine!

I have been wanting to try using dies with my twine. So I laid strips of super sticky tape onto a thin sheet of cardstock, and then adhered my twine, piece by piece. They make sheets of tape for this purpose (which I'm sure would look much prettier to start with), but since I didn't have any, I had to wing it. This worked just fine!

This is what my panel of twine looked like all nice and neat...
isn't it purdy??

And here's what it looks like all finished...I cut it using an adorable envelope die, and added the felt heart for a little extra pop of color.

If you love making your own custom embellishments, this is a fun technique for you to try! I love the way the colors in the twine gives a fun pattern to the envelope, and the texture is just fabulous.
Here's a look at the whole card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have an awesome week! Oh, and if you haven't checked out yesterday's fun blog hop
you'll want to...some fun and gorgeous eye candy!
See you next time!

Tone-on-Tone at The Twinery

Hi everyone!
Teri here today, and I am thrilled to be here with my
first post for The Twinery! YAY!
I've got a fun, simple and super cute card and gift birthday ensemble for you today that uses The Twinery's Maraschino, Lemon Drop, Mandarin, Peapod and Denim twines.

I started out by making this birthday card. I cut five tickets from scrap patterned papers and cardstocks. Then I wrapped the twines around each one. I used foam tape to adhere the tickets to my card.

You'll notice for added visual interest that I changed up how I wrapped the twine. I wrapped it all the way around some of the tickets and then tied bows at the front of three of them.

I used was inspired to do the same thing to decorate a
small lunch pail to give with my birthday card.

I again cut tickets from cardstock and patterned papers. Then I wrapped twine around each of them.
To adhere them to the tin, I just used foam tape.
When finished, I filled the tin up with a sweet treat of yogurt-covered raisins. Candy would be just as fun!

See you again soon!
