April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hi Everyone, it's Kathy back with another twine-y project! They say April showers bring May flowers, so here are my May flowers!

I created this for my mom as her Mother's Day present,  (there's a little surprise, you'll see!) but you could make it for a teacher's gift, something nice for a friend, just about anything!  I started by creating a holder for my flowers.  This cute little watering can was created using a cutting file and some fun springy papers.  I added some coordinating twine in Lilac, Cantaloupe and Honeydew to the handle.

Next, I created my flowers using my flower looms and some Honeydew, Blossom, Cantaloupe, Buttercream and Lilac Twine.

Now, here's the surprise.  My mom is a painter, and I bought her a bunch of new paint brushes as her present.  I used them as the stems of my flowers.  I wrapped the handles of the brushes in Honeydew twine using a couple of glue dots so that it could be removed easily, and attached the blooms to the top to cover the bristles.

And voila, I had flowers. This could be done using pencils, candy sticks, etc.  It's a fun and pretty way to package a little something!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Products used:  Paper and Stickers:  Echo Park Hello Spring Mini Collection; SVG Cuts Mother's Garden small watering can container; Baker's twine in Cantaloupe, Buttercream, Honeydew, Blossom, Lilac from The Twinery;  Flower Loom Hanna Ami.

  1. Wow! Very impressive!! Did you have to use ribbon stiff or anything like that to keep the twine in shape? Thanks for the inspiration!! Now to find me one of those looms...
