Dual-Purpose Decor

Hi there, fellow twine enthusiasts!
This is Tifany from Ink Blots by TRD and today I wanted to share with you a dual-purpose project.

I created these table centerpieces for a baby shower I am planning for my cousin, but they would make great little Easter baskets, as well.

For each basket I started with a double-sided piece of
12x12 patterned paper.
I scored each paper at 4" and 8", rotated the paper 90 degrees, and scored again at 4" and 8". {This will result in a 3x3 grid.}
After folding all the score lines I scored and folded the four corners on a diagonal so that they would act as flaps and pull the paper into a box shape rather than a flat piece of paper.

Once the box was assembled (I used a border punch before assembling to give it a decorative edge) I punched holes at each corner and threaded it with The Twinery's Buttercream twine
 which I then tied into a bow.

For a fun embellishment inside the basket I added a paper rosette to the top of a wooden dowel. I added a button tied with two colors of twine (one is tied with Pink Sorbet and Flax and the other is tied with
{If you are creating an Easter-themed decoration it would be fun to replace the scalloped circle center of the rosette
with an egg shaped die cut.}

For the filler (a fun DIY Easter grass) I took an old book and trimmed some pages into thin strips. All it takes is a little bit of crumpling in your hands to create a nice, fluffy filler.

If you are looking for a quick, handmade way to spruce up your table or would like to create a last minute Easter basket,
I hope you will give this a try.
