You've Got Mail!

Happy Wednesday, y'all! It's Shannan here, and I'm so excited to be posting for the first time on The Twinery Blog! I have a fun project that I've been waiting to share with you. A sweet little girl in my family had a birthday recently, and she loves mermaids and the color of the sea. So of course, I chose some Caribbean twine!

I have been wanting to try using dies with my twine. So I laid strips of super sticky tape onto a thin sheet of cardstock, and then adhered my twine, piece by piece. They make sheets of tape for this purpose (which I'm sure would look much prettier to start with), but since I didn't have any, I had to wing it. This worked just fine!

This is what my panel of twine looked like all nice and neat...
isn't it purdy??

And here's what it looks like all finished...I cut it using an adorable envelope die, and added the felt heart for a little extra pop of color.

If you love making your own custom embellishments, this is a fun technique for you to try! I love the way the colors in the twine gives a fun pattern to the envelope, and the texture is just fabulous.
Here's a look at the whole card.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have an awesome week! Oh, and if you haven't checked out yesterday's fun blog hop
you'll want to...some fun and gorgeous eye candy!
See you next time!
