It's hot and humid and sunny and sticky here in East Tennessee, but that hasn't stopped me from hosting a Christmas in July theme all this week on my own blog, I Love It All. Hi, I'm Monika, and everything from mini books, packaging, gift tags, bag toppers, notecards and free downloads have been revisited.
It only seemed fitting, then, to share some Christmas in July ideas here on The Twinery blog don't you think? The great thing about these packaging ideas is that you probably have some of the same items at home that you can upcycle and recycle. Instead of having to purchase cute tins to gift your handmade sweet treats, start planning now so that you're prepared.
Here's my starting point...
...an assortment of baker's twine in Maraschino, Cappuccino and Honeydew {also available in a Sampler Pack} along with recycled containers and various glassine and kraft bags from my Etsy shop, iloveitall.
Wondering where those cute gift tags came from? The Twinery has a FREE DOWNLOAD of Printable Tags and Labels available in every color of baker's twine in the Shop. Just go to the sidebar and you'll find the download there. I just added my personal information with a graphics program.
Upcycling a cheese crumbles container, I cut a circle from cardstock with my circle cutter {to hide the logo} in a color to coordinate well with the Honeydew baker's twine and added a strand of Maraschino twine as well. After using this technique to thread twine through the hole I punched in my tag, I tied a bow and voila...scrumptious bakery treat ready to be gifted. Visit with me on my blog today and I'll show you what I did to "cutify" the bottom of this container.
After deciding to use kraft bags, I knew that Cappuccino would be my twine color of choice and I added some Honeydew as an accent after finding the perfect patterned paper. I trimmed, border punched and then glued the paper bands to my bag before filling my bag and folding over the top. Tying with twine keeps the treats secure and fresh and makes this gift cuter than ever.
And one more Christmas in July idea for you...just wrap The Twinery baker's twine {in Maraschino here} around your container and use a pop dot to adhere your tag or label.
Look what I did to the top of the container using my large scallop punch and yet another tag!
What have you created using the FREE labels and tags from The Twinery? Why not share with us all by posting them to the Flickr Group, we'd love to see other fun ways to use them.
...and I also have a giveaway on my blog for a variety pack of gift bags shown in this post.

awesome fun ideas...thanks for sharing..I am headed to your blog right now..thanks
