When my son turned two last month, I wanted to make some fun, festive, yet easy toppers for his cupcakes. Using cardstock, lollipop sticks and fabulous baker's twine from The Twinery,
I came up with these...
I came up with these...
The kite how-to is super simple. Cut your kites out of cardstock (I free handed mine, but you could easily make a pattern), and glue a 6 inch piece of twine to the back of each kite for a tail.
Glue the kites to your lollipop sticks using a bit of hot glue. Add cardstock "bows" along the tail of your kite, if desired (this was the most time-consuming part)!
And voila! Easy, cute, and FUN.
Need another party decor idea? Don't have a toddler in the house and want something a little more sophisticated? Look no further. I also used twine from The Twinery for a dessert bar I put together recently, and the twine added a festive, yet subtle, touch.
