For the 'Love it All' Giveaway
Hello there! It's April from Secondsister Design. I would love to share with you one of the ways I have used my twine lately. I am a huge pom pom fan and so with Easter right around the corner I went looking for ways to use pom poms to make fun Easter things. I came up with pom pom flowers for boutonnieres and bouquets.
I started by making a loose pom poms using The Twinery twine in pastel colors. I added a yellow center to each flower for dimension.
I tied off the pom poms with floral wire. Then I used various elements to create the outside petals of the flower. Paper flower petals are available at the crafts store or you can also cut your own. I also used large rick rack on the boutonniere in the photo above.
I wrapped paper and ribbon around the bottom to hide the floral wire. Then I got out my hot glue gun and started adding embellishments like the buttons and bee in the above photos.
This was a super fun and easy project to do using twine. The hard part will be to convince my boys to wear the boutonniere on Easter Sunday!
For this project, you will need:
The Twinery bakers twine in various colors.
Paper or silk flowers.
Ribbon.
Hot glue.
Embellishments.
Floral wire.
If you decided to make a few twine flowers make sure you photograph them and share them on The Twinery's Flickr group.
