Time to CELEBRATE!

Do you ever just browse the internet looking for something and then get lost?
You start by clicking on a link - which leads you to new links...and other links...and other links...
Well - I did that recently and somehow came across pom pom making tutorials {I have NO idea what I started out looking for}.

I decided it might be fun to put some pom poms on a card:

The pom poms add a fun touch to a celebration card. {Wouldn't it make a great card for congratulating someone who just made the cheer squad?}
I could also see the pom poms easily translating into fireworks for a 4th of July card or layout.

There are all sorts of ideas out there for making pom poms. I just wrapped twine around a couple of my fingers about 50 times, tied a string around the middle and cut the loops. I like the look on the card when you squish the pom poms flat, but you could use them fluffed up for some serious dimension.

Of course you'll find a bunch of beautiful twine colors at The Twinery. Go ahead and fill up that shopping cart!

Please be sure to stop by my blog: Ink Blots by TRD and see some other things I have been creating!

  9. when I was a little girl and I cheered for Pop Warner football- we all worse these pom pom thingies on our shoes to match our team colors. These little poms remind me of a mini version of those- but they are WAAAAAAY cuter!! LOVE THEM!

  10. Oh yes - I know exactly what you mean about going from one place to another and then you forget what you were looking for. I always say "I'll just have a quick look for some ribbon, and then 2 hours later, I'm still there and never even looked at ribbon...." LOL Glad I am not the only one!

    I LOVE the pom poms on this card - such a great idea. I really love twine - it's my NEW favorite "must-have" thing and I am finding that I just have to put some somewhere on my card!
