To My Very Own Speed Racer!

Welcome to another day featuring the
Anything Goes...Twine Madness Challenge!

Since Father's Day is just around the corner I decided to take my project for this challenge toward a masculine theme.  I don't know about you, but I sometimes find making masculine cards the most difficult.  This is Jen from Jen's Ink Spot with you here today and I have two masculine cards to share.

These cards are inspired by my husband's hobby which is driving a dirt track race car.  For my inspiration today, I used his race car.  So along with my cards you might learn a tiny bit about dirt car racing today too!

Here's the inspiration:

For both of my masculine cards I used the
color scheme from his car.

Speed Racer Card 2

First up, is this flag card.  I figured that flags also represent racing and so I used the paint scheme from his car for my colors (although a blue flag isn't one that a driver really wants to see...it means he's going too slow & needs to move over to let the other cars by).

The other thing that every race car (or woodworker or mechanic) needs is nuts & bolts & washers.  I strung the washers on the card with the Twinery's new Solid Charcoal twine.  I tied each one on so that it wouldn't slip and punched 1/2 circles in the sides of the card base to hold the twine and washers in place.  I also used a tiny piece of scor-tape on the backs of the washer to help them stay in place.

Speed Racer Card 1

This next cards uses many of the same elements as the first, only this time I used the washers like eyelets and tied the twine through the holes.  It seemed like a good way to add a little more masculinity to a card.  I also tied the twine around the small banner.

Now it's your turn to play!  There are fabulous prizes to win!  You can find all of the challenge information and link up your card here

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Saying Hello to The Anything Goes Challenge

Hello!!  This is Amy from Scrapping Mommy here to share a card to help inspire you to pull out that bakers twine from The Twinery and get creating for our latest
Twine Madness Challenge: Anything Goes.

I was very inspired by the I {Heart} Summer paper pad from Simple Stories, I created this card with the papers from it and some of the yummy solid bakers twine from The Twinery.

I used the Solid Marigold bakers twine around the sun.  I adhered it with some strong adhesive and then cut it to different lengths to mimic the sun's rays.  I also added some to a black button and adhered it to the sun with a glue dot.

I also tied the ends and glued a little bit of the Solid Caribbean bakers twine to the top of the banners.  Here is a closer look.....

I hope that you can join us in creating for this fun Twine Madness Challenge.  Remember, you can create anything you want as long as it uses bakers twine.....and look what you can win!!

I can't wait to see what you create!!
Have fun!!

Hugs,
Amy

Today, we're excited to have Monika sharing her idea with us to kick off our Twine Madness Challenge!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

It's Monika here today and I love, love, love baker's twine from The Twinery.

I'm lucky to have quite the supply and I'm tickled to share with you my latest creation...a little bit home decor and a little bit reference tool.

Not only is this an awesome way to add color to your craft space, because there's every color of the rainbow, but it also serves as a handy tool for all the fun names of baker's twine. I left room at the bottom of my display frame...just in case the collection of shades and shimmers continues to grow!

After punching two sizes of tags, I decided upon the smaller tag for this project, as it fit inside my frame better but if you are space challenged, you could instead to hang yours on a book binder ring and tuck it away with the rest of your crafting tools.

How do you store your The Twinery baker's twine? Leave a link in the comments to your post or gallery so that I can drop by and see what you've dreamed up.

Happy Grad!

Good morning and happy graduation season!  We are still finishing up school here in Michigan, but the Seniors graduated last weekend which means there are A LOT of open houses and celebrations all around us!  I have been working with a dear friend to assist with her daughter's party and created these little center pieces to sit on the tables outside!

I love that the new Solid Denim twine matches our high school colors just perfectly!  Just look at how cute the little tassels are on the die cut graduation cap!

I also used the Solid Denim twine around the bow
as well to help tie in the colors!

Father's Day - One Card, Three Ways

Hello June!
Hello watermelon, splashing in the pool, home grown tomatoes, sleeping in, ice cream and popsicles. And flip flops. Gotta love that.

Hi, I'm Monika from I Love It All and I've had the pleasure of designing with The Twinery baker's twine since the very beginning. This project really began as a card download project but quickly changed course when I realized that these cards just needed "something." And that something was some of the new rich, vibrant solid color baker's twine that's just been introduced.

And we gotta love our Father's, Father's-in-Law, the Dad's to our children and those father figures that were always there for us. And this celebration is always tough on those men and women that so desperately want to be parents and have prayed and struggled through the years and continue to hope. Let us not forget them.

Let's get started with this one card design, three ways. Here's what we'll begin with,  you can download yours here.

As you can see, I printed my design onto kraft cardstock, white cardstock and some speckletone natural tan cardstock just to show you how you can change up the look by varying what cardstock you choose.

Let's take a look at the white cardstock option now. I thought it would be fun to use an outline font so that the kids can color in the front of the card for their favorite DaDa or Papa. My girlies were busy, so I colored my own card for my Sweetie.

The solid Caribbean baker's twine from The Twinery is a great accent. I wrapped my card at the bottom and tied a small bow. I used it again along with some solid Midnight Blue to wrap around my gift and attach my gift tag to the package
I wrapped in kraft paper.

I like how the speckle-toned cardstock is a bit rustic without going to the extreme of kraft. I added the solid Midnight Blue to the front of the card at both the top and bottom and then a bit of Caribbean to tie the tag shape I punched which is adorned with the small embellishment that was scallop punched from the download.

Now the kraft cardstock. Very rustic. I punched a tiny heart and attached it to the front of the card just because I thought it needed a little pick me up. I added another to the gift tag, tied with solid Midnight blue baker's twine that I attached to the gift card inside the card.

By the way, did you know that an Amazon gift card fits inside an A2 card perfectly? Well, it does. Here's where you can find the square flapped envelopes I used.

Thanks for dropping in today, we're always thrilled to have you!
We have more Father's Day Gift Ideas coming your way, so stay tuned.

Monika

Granting Wishes with Twine

Hello!
It's Tifany here, and I just love The Twinery's
new solid twines, don't you?

I've used the new Solid HoneydewSolid Caribbean, and Solid Pink Sorbet to make this fun Spring Wand:

I started with a wooden dowel (I bought mine in the cake section at my local craft store) and wrapped it in Solid Honeydew twine.

To do this I simply put a strip of ScorTape down the side of the dowel and wrapped the twine around. I removed the paper backing for the ScorTape about an inch at a time so I wouldn't get my hands all over it (which would have taken away some of the stickiness).

At the top of the dowel I used a strong, quick-drying liquid adhesive to adhere strands of all three twine colors, then I topped it with more liquid adhesive and a paper flower.

These wands are great for spring, but would also be fun for something like a fairy-themed party.

Thanks for stopping by and please be sure to check out
it's the last day to enter!
